Placentrex Gel is a topical medicated gel containing human placenta extract: each gram contains approx. 0.1 g of fresh human placenta extract.
The gel is indicated for chronic non-healing wounds, delayed wound healing (such as diabetic ulcers), wounds associated with burns, ulcers or other skin defects.
Mechanism of action: The placenta extract acts as a biogenic modulator — it helps stimulate tissue regeneration, enhance collagen synthesis, improve blood supply to the wound site, reduce inflammation and thereby accelerate healing with minimal scarring.
Usage: It’s for external use only. The affected area should be cleaned and dried; a thin layer of the gel is applied as per physician’s advice. It should not be used in excess in hopes of faster results.
Manufacturer: Albert David Limited (India) for the formulation listed.
Precautions: Avoid contact with eyes/mouth; if accidental contact, rinse thoroughly. Discontinue if allergic reaction occurs. Use under doctor supervision especially in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Active Ingredient: Human Placenta Extract (0.1 g per gram of gel)
Therapeutic category: Wound-healing, skin regeneration agent for non-healing/slow-healing wounds.
Formulation: Gel form — allows topical application, suitable for wound surface, better spreadability than thicker ointments.
Minimal scarring: Because the agent promotes tissue repair and regeneration, the product claims quicker closure and reduced scar formation.
Pack size variant: Provided as “20 g × 2” — useful for stocking multiples or for patients needing longer treatment.
Well-known brand: Albert David’s Placentrex line is established in India.
Multiple indications: Beyond simple wounds, used for diabetic ulcers, burn-associated wounds, surgical incision healing (as per physician’s guidance)
